Statement: Iowa’s religious freedom bill stalls

We’re disappointed that Iowa did not advance a common-sense bill that merely requires government to show compelling interest and use the least restrictive remedy for settling religious liberty disputes. Every Iowan’s freedom deserves a fair hearing in court, regardless of political party, religion, race, or orientation.

The FAMiLY LEADER remains steadfast in championing the belief that all Iowans should be free to live and work without being forced to violate their conscience and without fear of being unjustly punished by government.

Additionally, we want to thank and encourage Sen. Dennis Guth for his hard work in building support for this bill. We look forward to the day when his hard work is rewarded.

Donate today to support TFL’s continuing efforts to defend religious liberty for all Iowans.
