On July 26, President Trump announced via Twitter that “the United States Government will not accept or allow … Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.”
President Trump states his case in terms of military effectiveness. To that end, we must recognize that redefining gender cannot be our military’s top priority. If embracing transgenderism in the ranks compromises the safety of the American people, then, as politically incorrect as it may be, President Trump made the right call.
But our response to this issue cannot end there. As Christians facing one of the most publicized issues of our time, it is important that we learn what God’s Word actually says about transgenderism and what a Christian’s response should be to people facing the very real struggle of gender dysphoria.
