David is originally from Creston, Iowa, and now lives in Kansas City, Missouri. David and his wife, Leah, have one daughter, Ellie. David graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary with a degree in pastoral ministry and double emphasis in Greek and counseling. He also obtained his master of arts degree in biblical studies at Faith Baptist. Recently, David went back to school and received his master’s in business administration at the University of Iowa.
David always wanted to be involved in ministry, which is why he attended Faith Baptist. But, as he notes, “I wasn’t called into the traditional ministry.” This is why working at The FAMiLY LEADER was a good balance and the perfect non-traditional ministry for him.
Before working at The FAMiLY LEADER, David owned a remodeling company. During the slow winter months, he started volunteering at the Iowa Capitol with Chuck Hurley. Dave appreciated the mission and realized the impact TFL was making at the Capitol.
“It’s a good team to work with,” David comments on working at The FAMiLY LEADER. “It’s exciting seeing the mission being accomplished in alignment with biblical principles.”
Favorite Bible passage:
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.” – Psalms 1
